Small groups meet regularly to develop close personal bonds with one another, to offer friendship and support and to grow in their personal faith journey.

Piecemakers - The quilting group meets every Thursday to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief and local agencies. Baby quilts are made and delivered to all newborns in the congregation. This high-energy group honors many requests - making pillows and costumes for Sunday School and the choir, confirmation quilts, etc. The group also has a booth at the fall bazaar and a silent auction in the spring where quilts and other homemade items are available for purchase.

Singles Group - South Canyon members and friends gathers monthly for a social event that include hiking, biking, campfires, movies and pizza, dinner theatre, plays, cross-country skiing, Christmas parties, etc.

Book Discussion Group - A lively conversation on a book previously selected and read by the participants is held monthly on Saturday mornings. A wide variety of books are read making for interesting dialogue.

MOMS (Mothers On the Move Spiritually) - With childcare provided the group meets monthly for fellowship, fun, support and service. Activities planned by the moms vary from year to year. They may include speakers, tours, appetizer & fondue parties, flower arranging, jewelry making, service projects, meditation techniques, devotions, prayer partners, parenting focus, etc.

“Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” - The four Sunday evening gatherings a year offer a unique opportunity to socialize with church friends and dine on good food. These events include an air of mystery, too, as the hosts learn who’s coming for dinner during appetizers at the church. You host once and bring a pre-assigned appetizer, salad or dessert the other three times.

Small Group Women's Bible Study - Wednesday evening gathering for all ages to study and discuss challenging and inspirational Christian topics led by Jennifer Wright. Meal and child care are available.

Bible Studies - Wednesday evening study is offered at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday morning study with Pastor Bruce is at 9:15 a.m. These are two excellent times that give people have a chance to grow in their relationship with God and one another, and to grow in faith, which is a gift given in Baptism.

YAH (Young At Heart) Potluck - Great food, fun, fellowship and a brief program is offered at noon on the second Friday of each month. If you are retired or available, bring your table service, a dish to pass, and come to the Koinonia Kafe at the church to enjoy some of the best food in town!

Breakfast Groups - Both working and retired people are invited to attend the women’s breakfast group which meets every Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. at Tally’s Restaurant (530 6th Street) for a short devotion, and fellowship. The men’s breakfast group gets together every Wednesday at 7 a.m. at Hardee's Restaurant (2250 Haines Ave.) for a discussion time with the pastors.

WELCA Circles meet once a month (except for summer) for Bible study and fellowship. With circles meeting in the morning, afternoon and evening, there is a time for everyone interested.

Connectors Groups - Two to seven individuals gather in each group weekly for a one hour session to explore the next Sunday’s Gospel lesson. There is no official leader who presents a lesson. Just pick up the two-page printed session in the Koinonia Kafe (at church) that includes the biblical background of the text, a connection of the biblical theme with daily life, and a suggestion for applying a faith practice in the coming week. The format lends itself to include those outside the church family or new to the faith.

Men’s Fraternity - All men are invited to a weekly Bible study at 6 a.m. on Friday mornings in the Koinonia Kafe. The current study is “Husband in the Mirror.” Call Dan LeLaCheur (721-0998) for information.
